Dr Paul Lunt

Paul is an associate professor in Environmental Science at the University of Plymouth. The focus of Paul’s research has been on habitat restoration for nature conservation and climate change mitigation. He was Director of the Low Carbon Devon Project (2019-2023) and was a Principal Investigator with Earth Watch and team lead for the IUCN’s, UK Commission of Inquiry on peatland restoration and has published over 50 papers and technical reports.

Paul is an advocate of nature-based solutions, and his research aims to demonstrate how working with natural processes can help reduce climate impacts and biodiversity loss. His research on climate change impacts on vegetation and the ecological impacts associated with land-use change includes urban systems and green infrastructure opportunities.
